Soccer School

Soccer School 2006 was so popular, we decided to do it all over again in 2007.

Pictured on the left is Lotan Matewere, our Sporting Marvels Youth Worker, being "piled on" by some of the boys who took part in the event last year.

Our 2007 Soccer School took place at Darran Park on 30th & 31st May. The weather could have been a bit better, but it didn't dampen the spirits of the girls and boys who came along to the 2 days of football coaching.

If your child attended we hope they had a great time and learned some new skills. Thank you for letting them come.   

It was a pleasure to have them, and a real joy to see them having so much fun.

This year the themes were losing/winning, encouraging/criticising and being team.

At the end of the 2 days a presentation evening and buffet was held in Bethel where all the children were given footballs and  certificates to recognise their achievements. Awards ranged from Keepy Uppy Champione to Best Player of the Week. A special "thank you" to our two local Councillors Annette Davies and Ceri Jones for joining us and helping to present the certificates. Your support is greatly appreciated. We were also entertained by a humorous sketch performed by "The Foosball Team".

Thank you to everyone who made the Soccer School happen. It's going to be an annual event, so don't miss it next year!
